The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, officials in Lagos announced on late Wednesday. The athlete was part of a serious road collision in the Lagos area on Monday, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his close associates.
Recovering from Minor Injuries
The boxer had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post online that Joshua was declared medically stable to leave and heal privately.
“The boxer and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two departed friends as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.
Honoring the Deceased
The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the champion was filled with sorrow and overcome with emotion over the tragic loss of his two trusted companions.”
